generic flowerDebbie Herrington 60, of Spearman passed away on December 29, 2014. Graveside services will be on Saturday, January 3, at 2p.m. at Hansford Cemetery with Cecil Biggers officiating. Visitation will be on Friday January 2, 2015 from 6-8p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers of Spearman.

Debbie was born on March 27, 1954 to Ed and Lois Merydith in Roswell, NM. She was a member of the Baptist church. Debbie and Danny Herrington were married on August 5, 1972 in Booker, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Debbie spent 20 years working at the Pizza Hut in Spearman. She enjoyed square dancing and loved family activities.
She is survived by her husband Danny, three son’s, Daniel Edward Herrington of Spearman, Monty James Herrington of Liberal, Kansas and Coy Thomas Herrington of Spearman. She is also survived by a brother, Bill Merydith of Booker, TX and two sister’s Becky Mualsell of Calumet, OK and Linda Smith of Perryton, TX and three grandchildren Samantha and Allison Herrington of Liberal and Drew of Spearman.

Family suggest memorials in memory of Debbie be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center or Spearman Windmill Association.

Judy Ann Parker

Willie Adams pastor of Eternal Light Church officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Judy was born May 27, 1950 in Borger to Vernon and Dorothy Patrick Welch. She graduated from Borger High School in 1968.She loved arts and crafts and gambling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Parker, son Richie Eakins and a sister.

Judy is survived by a son Morris Eakins and wife Kelly of Borger. Daughter Dorrie Sanford of Borger. Step son Jeff Parker and wife Jenna of Amarillo. Step Daughter Debi Opiela and husband Dennis of Crosby, TX. Brothers Vernon Welch and wife Jere of Tulsa, OK: Eddie Welch and wife Regina of Tulsa, OK: Jimmie Welch and wife LaDonna of Fritch. Twelve grandchildren.

Lorene Thomas

2887110Lorene Thomas passed away Tuesday December 30, 2014 in Borger.

She was born September 12, 1918 in Range, Oklahoma to Ira Jennings and Maggie Agnes (Morris) Hale.

She married Lawerence Ray “Pete” Thomas on June 11, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1974.

Mrs. Thomas was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Borger and was a member of WMU.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Sunshine and Dorothy Hale, brothers Tommy Hale, Ira Hale, Clifford Hale and Lear Hale.

She is survived by her daughter Florence Wright of Nixa, Missouri and a sister Pamela Prim of Lubbock, Texas, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchilren.

Services will be held Monday January 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church Auditorium at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa.

Family visitation will be held Sunday January 4, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Brown’s Chapel of the Fountains.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Mission Offerings.

Mary Ruth Biddy

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Gary Beauchamp officiating.

Mary Ruth Bowling was born in Paducah to Claude and Bertha Nash Bowling on April 6, 1929. She married James Dallas Biddy, Jr. (JD) on September 20, 1948. Ruth was a retired cafeteria manager who loved to cook and bake. She was a loving, caring, and selfless woman who will be desperately missed by her family.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Raymond Bowling and wife Mary and Kenneth Bowling; two sisters, Wanda Jones and husband Rusty and George Ola Moore and husband George H.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Connie Beauchamp and husband Gary of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Greg Beauchamp and wife Kim of Amarillo, Jennifer Beauchamp of Dallas, Briggen Baker and wife Corrie of Abilene and Peyton Baker of Plano; two great-grandsons, Ayden and Lincoln Beauchamp of Amarillo; a sister in law, Joanie Bowling of New Jersey; and daughter #2, Wanda Roberson and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Lifeway Fellowship.

Pearl Baskin

dd33f6ab-fd36-4b91-a048-98fe587e5730Pearl was born November 12, 1926 in Throckmorton, Texas. She married Marvin Baskin in 1958. Pearl loved to crochet and was a big sports fan. Her favorite teams to listen to on television and radio were the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Her dog, Precious, was a true companion to Pearl. Above all she adored her family and cherished the time she spent with them all, especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed and never forgotten.

She is survived by her daughter, Wyvonne Huey and husband David of Amarillo; step-daughters, Linda Gard of Houston and Della Johnson of Shamrock; sisters, Bobbie Hines of Wichita Falls, Gelika McGomery of Mississippi and Virginia Rohety of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Randy Huey and wife Rebecca of Amarillo and Ricky Huey of Bedford; 2 great-grandchildren, Bryce and Ben Huey; and a foster granddaughter, Veronica Chroscinski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Baskin in 1995; and her parents.

Jane Margarita Luera

Jane was born September 29, 1950 in Tulia to Robert and Josefa Luera. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School. She attended WTAMU and graduated from Texas Tech. She was a Headstart Teacher Coordinator. She had lived in Albuquerque, NM for 26 years.

She is preceded in death by her father; Robert Luera and a sister; Bea Luera.

She is survived by her mother: Josefa Luera of Tulia, three brothers: Roy Luera of Tulia, Bill Luera of Austin and Vincent Luera of Amarillo, one nephew: Ryan Luera and wife Autumn and one great niece: Kendall Luera.

Dale C. Maxwell

2886566Dale C. Maxwell, 89, died on December 29, 2014 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Heckmann officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the church from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Dale was born June 1, 1925 in Plainview, Texas to Jack L. & Lorene Daffern Maxwell. He married Lillie Harms on June 25, 1950 in Littlefield, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2006. He graduated from Llano High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Maxwell farmed in the Sudan and Mayfield communities for several years. He retired from Atmos Energy and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Plainview. Mr. Maxwell had a great sense of humor, a wonderful smile and loved to read and tell stories. He took very special care of his wife during her illness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers.

Dale is survived by one daughter: Janice Ray and husband Mike of Amarillo; one son: Gary Maxwell & wife Ethel of Amarillo; one sister: Jackie Thompson; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Helen Henckel for her wonderful care of Dad for three years and to the Ware Memorial Care Center physicians and staff for their kind and compassionate care. Thank you for loving him as your own. We the family appreciate all you did for him.

Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Maria was born on November 19, 1919 to Zacarias & Felicitas Puente. She grew up in Mexico before moving to Texas then California. While in California she worked in food processing plant for many years. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church. Later she returned to Texas.

She is preceded in death by one son, Miguel Angel Lara.

She is survived by one daughter, Hortencia Rodriguez of Plainview, TX; four sons, Pedro Covarrubias of Brownsville, TX, Benjamin Mata of Mexico, Adan Covarrubias of Brownsville, TX, and Felix Lara of North Dakota; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Bill Washington

2885766Bill Washington, 87, died Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Pampa.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the First Christian Church with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Washington was born October 10, 1927 in Pampa where he had been a lifelong resident. Bill attended Pampa High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he played baseball in Japan at the end of WWII. He married Emily Lancaster on March 18, 1949 in Pampa and they were happily married 65 years. Bill helped coach his sons baseball teams in the Optimist Club and he always enjoyed his time with family. Bill was an operator for the Dorchester Gasoline Plant and retired in 1984 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Hidden Hills Golf Course where he was active in the Senior Golf Association where he helped build the club house. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mittie Washington, Sr.; one son Terry Washington on March 19, 2007; two sisters, Virginia Tate and Clara Imel; and a brother James Washington, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Emily of the home; one daughter, Sherry Watson and husband Deon of Pampa; one son, Tommy Washington and wife Tracy of Pampa; one sister, Donna Sims and husband Wayne of Dallas; five grandchildren, Michelle Watson of Canyon, Ryan Watson and friend Rachel Zeck of Amarillo, Angela Walker and husband Jimmie of Duncan, Oklahoma, Camron Washington and Nathan Washington both of Pampa. Many nieces and nephews.
