Ada Mae Defoor

62322_memorialAda Mae was born to Claude and Vesta (Stephens) Edwards on April 6, 1922 in Ricardo, NM. She Graduated from Ft. Sumner High and then went on to a business school in Albuquerque. She married Gradon Allen Defoor November 22, 1945, who precedes her in death. To this union Alta Darlene, a still born and Dennis Earl were born. She retired in 1982 from New Mexico Human Services Department.

She had nine siblings of which only one sister LaVelle Wilson survives her. Other survivors are Dennis and wife Denise Defoor, grandson Doug and his wife Brittany Defoor, great grandson Mason Defoor, great granddaughter Abby Defoor, along with sister in laws, nephews, and nieces.

Memorials may be given to Baptist Children Home in Portales, NM.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of the Sandias and all of her caregivers.

A Graveside Service will held at 10:00 a.m., Monday September 14, 2015 at Ft. Sumner Cemetery with Anna Teeter Gentile officiating.

Moreland Lee Harrington

62339_memorialMoreland was born in Clovis NM, on April 18th, 1938 to Garland and Nina Hartley Harrington. He was a 1956 Clovis High School graduate and attended Eastern New Mexico University. He married Jane Elizabeth Owen on February 10, 1957 in Clovis, NM.

They had three children, Stephen, Kim, and Tonye. He started his career in at Dr. Crume and Dr. McDonald’s as an optician. Owed a dry cleaning shop with his wife, and was a Real Estate agent with Jack Winton Reality. Moreland spent the next 30 years farming the land his grandfather Hartley previously owned in the Hollene Community. Moreland was an avid golfer, fisherman, and loved attending all of his children’s sporting events (which were many!!). He especially loved telling his jokes!

Hollee Gene Spears

62422_memorialHollee Gene Spears, 26, of Keller, TX passed away September 15th, 2015.

She was born August 30th, 1989 in Clovis, NM.

She married Austin Spears of Clovis on June 15, 2011.

Hollee was a Clovis High School graduate in 2007. Hollee attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM where she received her degree in elementary education. She was a very successful school teacher at Clovis Nazarene School for several years and taught at Mesa Elementary. When moving to Amarillo, TX, she established Hollee Spears Photography wherein she focused on newborn photos. Both Hollee and Austin moved to Keller, TX in 2015. Family and children were her passion and she was truly blessed with a unique gift of a bountiful heart. She was always focused on bringing out the greater good in everything and in everyone.

Hollee is survived by her loving husband, Austin Spears of Keller, TX; parents; Cheryl Burch of Clovis, NM; Scott and Dena Plyler of Clovis, NM; one brother; Rance Plyler of Clovis, NM; Grandparents; Betty “Noodle” Burch; Bill and Gerry Shaw, all of Clovis. She had numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Godmother, Carla Nuttall; Godfather, Larry Smith.

Hollee is preceded in death by grandparents; Waylon Don “Grandpap” Burch, Eck and Laverne Colson, HL Plyler; and several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
The family will be available for visitation Friday, September 18th from 5-7 p.m. at Steed Todd Funeral Home, 800 Manana Blvd., Clovis, NM 88101.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 11 a.m. at W. 21st Street Church of Christ, 1720 W 21st St., Clovis, NM 88101 with Ken Cable officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, NM.

Pallbearers are: Jack Nuttall, Larry Smith, Aaron Ratledge, Mike Burdett, Matt Sefcik, Bob Farkas.

Robert Lee Hopingardner

62399_memorialRobert was born May 18, 1929 in Bovina, Texas. He graduated from Bovina High School. Robert married Virginia Craig on May 24, 1972 in Clovis, New Mexico. Robert was a simple man who loved hunting and spending time with his grandkids. He was also a volunteer for the Bovina Fire Department for many years, and helped cook for Bulltown Days.

Robert is survived by his wife Virginia, one brother Willis J. Hopingardner, and three step daughters Charlotte Adams and Valerie Urban of Clovis, and Victoria Wenzel of Charleston, South Carolina. Seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents T.J and Sadie Hopingardner, four sisters Dorothy Blaylock, Mildred Blaylock, Gladys Whitesides, and Eula Cox, and step-son John Adams.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Steed-Todd Chapel with Reverend Jim Kelly, officiating. Burial will follow at Bovina Cemetery in Bovina, Texas.

Josie Paiz

62441_memorialJosie was born January 10, 1931 in Juan De Dios, New Mexico to Victor and Antonia Chavez (Cordova). She married Johnny Paiz on August 18, 1956 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Josie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She also loved and cared for many foster children. Josie was the proud owner of Josie’s Café in Portales for 18 years and a gifted seamstress who loved to quilt and sew.

Josie is survived by her husband Johnny Paiz, daughter Kathy Paiz, two sons; Larry Paiz, and Pete (Mary) Paiz. One adopted son Richard Bennink, brother Cristobal Chavez, and sister Terry Paiz. Grandchildren: Jeremy Mobley, JD Mobley, Kody Paiz, Jewlie Kearns, Silver Melancon, Brandi Lovato, Sixto Paiz, Austin Pullen, Kyle Pullen, Tylor Pullen, Jaycee Pullen, and sixteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Victor Chavez and Antonia Cordova, one son Johnny Paiz Jr., brothers Doroteo Chavez, and Jose Inez Chavez, Juan Chavez, Alfonso Chavez, Santiago Chavez, Salomon Chavez, and Victor Chavez; three sisters Rita Salazar, Julia Salazar, and Eulalia Mirabal.

A rosary will be prayed for Josie at 7:00 p.m. – Sunday, September 20, 2015 at St. Helens Catholic Church in Portales, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. – Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Portales, NM. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Dora, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be J.D. Mobley, Jeremy Mobley, Sixto Paiz, Kody Paiz, Joey Melancon, and Tylor Pullen. Honorary pallbearers are her Great Grandchildren, foster children, and all those that called her mom.

Betty Mae Burch

62518_memorialShe was born March 6, 1935, in Accokeek, MD. She married Waylon Don Burch of Melrose in December of 1958. She loved to travel, go on cruises, was a member of MADD, she worked as a first grade teacher for 25 years at Lincoln Jackson Elementary School and taught first grade for 15 years at James Bickley as well.
Betty is survived by her daughter Cheryl Gene Burch of Clovis, her sons Cliff Burch (Patti) of Hobbs, Clay Burch (Kay) of Clovis; brother Johnnie ”Gagum” Chapman; and sister Barbara Riley (Jim) of Maryland. She had three grandchildren, Robin Sefcik, Staci Kaufman and Hollee Spears; two great grandchildren Hadli and Hollyn Sefcik.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Waylon Don ”Grandpap” Burch; sons Clinton and Curtis Burch; Granddaughter Hollee Gene Spears; mother Lil Chapman; and her father John Chapman.

Pallbearers will be Matt Sefcik, Austin Spears, Jon Kaufman, Jack Nuttall, Derek McDowell, Danny Herry and Tim Lyman.

A funeral service will take place at the First United Methodist Church on 1501 Sycamore St Clovis, NM with Jeb Archey Officiating and the Eulogy given by Barry Lewis on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00AM.

Guadalupe L. Duran

62561_memorialGuadalupe was born on April 7, 1928 in Estacado, TX to Salome and Victoria Garcia. She married Thomas Duran in June of 1950 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was employed at Jack Hopkins Cleaners for 15 years and also worked at Clovis Steam Laundry and Cleaners.

Guadalupe is survived by her husband Thomas Duran of the home and by a grand niece Michelle Madrid, who she helped raise, she loved Michelle like a daughter. One grandson, Clarence Thomas with wife Danielle Duran and three great-grandchildren Dillon, Desiree, Payton, all of Colorado Springs, CO, one sister Mela with husband Serviano Armijo of Clovis, NM and many nieces and nephews.

Guadalupe is preceded in death by her parents Salome and Victoria Garcia, sisters Mariana and Roman Chavez, Adelina and Lucerio Trujullo, Josepha and Pedro Alires, Tera and Frank Sanchez, Dora and Thomas Sandoval, Flora and Abenico Gonzales, Erlinda and Mike Marquez and brother Ernesto Garcia and their only son Clarence Duran.

A Rosary will take place on Friday, September 25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 6:00PM. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 26 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00AM with Fr. Sanchez officiating.

Orlando Ulibarri Sr.

62577_memorialOrlando was born on May 13, 1930 in Colonias, New Mexico to Manuel and Beneranda Ulibarri. He attended school in Santa Rosa. He worked as a rancher, BNSF Railroad and retired from the City of Clovis as a heavy equipment operator. Orlando loved the Lord and having his family around all the time. He was quick to help anyone in need, loved to share the gospel with his children, grandchildren and anyone who would listen.

Orlando is survived by his son Orlando Ulibarri Jr. and wife (Margaret) of Clovis, NM daughter Gloria Rodarte and husband (James) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and daughter Dorothy Ulibarri and fiancé (Anthony) of Albuquerque, NM, a sister Josephine Quintana (Albert) of Roswell, two brothers Alex Ulibarri (Josie) of Santa Rosa, NM and George Ulibarri (Josie) of Colonias, NM. He was ”Granpo” to Stephanie Moncayo, Erika Kearns and husband Cody, Alex Ulibarri and wife Janette, Alyssa Moncayo, Devin Winn, Jordan Chavez and Jazlynn Ulibarri. He was ”Lito” to 8 great grandchildren Joshua, Noel, Noah; Carter, Isaiah, Brayden, Kamdyn and Urijah.

Orlando is preceded in death by his wife Marcella Ulibarri, his two sisters Carlotta Elliott and Lucille Padilla, a brother Manuel Ulibarri and an infant.

Funeral services will be held at Steed Todd Chapel on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00AM.

Terry Kittrel

_AllObitsLogo300T. J. was born on January 14, 1928 by Terry P. Kittrell and Thelma Caudle in Petersburg, TX. He graduated from Springlake High School in 1947. He married Ysleta Brown on November 13, 1954 in Clovis, NM. T.J. spent two years in the US Army and served in the Korean War. After that, he started farming and raised cattle in 1955 to 2008. T.J. enjoyed watching football and basketball, playing with his grandkids and taking care of his cows and donkeys. He was a member of the Curry County 42 league and First Baptist Church in Farwell, TX.

T.J. is survived by his wife Ysleta Kittrell, one sister Rubie Craft, 5 grandchildren Trevor Kittrell, Kara Caicedo, Lindsay Jenkins, Ondria Halmon and Jordan Bogan, and 9 great-grandchildren, three step grandons Adam, Scott and Andrew Furlow, one son-in-law Steve Furlow, and daughter-in-law Cary Kittrell.

T.J. in preceded in death by his son Lynn Kittrell, his daughter Lisa Furlow, his mother and father Terry and Thelma Kittrell and brothers Durb Kittrell, Truman Kittrell and Buster Kittrell.

A graveside service will take place 11:00AM at Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell, Texas.
