Debra Ann Medina

63759_memorialDebra was born on June 5, 1957 to Robert and Angela (Razo) Garcia in Joliet, IL. She had been a resident of the community for 32 years. Debra was a registered nurse for many years and worked at BSA Hospital for 15 years and Moore County Hospital for 10 years. Debra was with the love of her life, Jose Fernando, for well over 40 years. She attended Iglesia Bautista Hispana and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Robert and Cleave Garcia and her favorite aunt: Juanita Serrato.

Debra is survived by her husband: Jose Fernando of Dumas; two daughters: Fernanda Leza and husband Jerry of Laredo and Olivia Medina and husband Gilbert Falcon of Dumas; five grandchildren: Gilbert Jr., Diego and Jonathan Falcon, and Natalie and Nathan Leza; one sister: Roberta Lopez of Dumas; one brother: Cyrus Garcia of Dumas, two aunts: Vera Martinez and Carmella Garcia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o’ clock in the morning on Tuesday, November 24th at Iglesia Bautista Hispana with Rev. Ernesto Rodriguez, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

Danny “Peanut” Putman

1703627_profile_picDaniel was born June 15, 1954 in Littlefield, Texas to Delbert Denton and Christine Jeanne Tissiere Putman. He married Carmen Apodaca on April 22, 2000 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was a retired worker of the Texas Department of Transportation, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, collect Hot Wheel cars, flying model airplanes and dearly loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his father and 1 sister-Rose Marie Putman.
Survivors include: his wife, Carmen of Friona, 2 sons- Derek Putman and wife Candice of Springer, N.M., and Johnny Baca of Hereford, 2 daughters-Clover Chacon and husband James of Las Cruces, N.M., and Amanda Hamilton and husband Chris of Friona, 1 brother-Jimmy Putman of Friona, 2 sisters-Nancy Jackson of Friona and Shirley Wimberly and husband Donnie of Clovis, and 7 grandchildren.
Family visitation will be held Friday November 13, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Funeral Services have been scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Saturday November 14, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Friona with Pastor Bobby Broughton, and Johnny Baca of Hereford, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Billy Joe Mercer

_AllObitsLogo300Mr. Mercer was born September 8, 1931 in Clovis, New, Mexico to Charles Lloyd and Edith Mae Bomar Mercer. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict, he married Tommie Ruth Martin on September 3, 1955 in Friona where he was a dedicated, longtime area farmer. He was honored to be the Friona Man of the Year in 2004 and was President of the Friona Sr. Citizens from 2002 to 2004. He loved helping the elderly. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother-Robert E. Mercer. He is survived by his wife, Tommie of Friona, 1 daughter Leesa Stephens and husband H.E. “Steve” Stephens of Amarillo, 1 son-Tim Mercer and wife Cari of Coppell, Texas, 5 grandchildren-Hannah Patton and husband Larry of Corpus Christi, H.E.”Trey” Stephens III of New Orleans, Taylor Mercer and husband Alex Bedford of London, England, Garik Mercer of Norman, Ok., and Dillon Mercer of Lubbock, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday November 30, 2015 at the Friona United Methodist Church in Friona with Rev. Skip Hodges, pastor, and Rev. H.E. “Steve” Stephens of Amarillo, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.

Frank Stephen Robbins

3379337Frank was born May 15, 1923 in Sparta, TN, to Hascal and Nancy (Martin) Robbins. Frank moved to Hereford with his family in 1930 from Sparta. He married Ruth Virginia (Moreman) Robbins on June 29, 1947 in Deaf Smith County. Frank was a lifetime farmer. He was a member and deacon of the Frio Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his family dearly.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Marcia Little and husband E.H. and Lyla Mason.

Survivors left to cherish the memories of Frank are his wife, Ruth of Hereford; 3 daughters, Carol Duvall and husband Gene of Amarillo, Genie Burkhalter and husband Rev. Alan of Amarillo, Patti Jahn and husband Herb of Rockport, TX; 3 sons, Stephen Robbins of Lexington, VA, Gerald Robbins and wife Victoria of Durango, CO, Scott Robbins and wife Cindy of Rockport, TX; 1 brother, Pat Robbins and wife Susan of Hereford; 2 sisters, Nancy Martin of Ventura, CA, Betty Stephan and husband Weldon of Hereford; 1 brother-in-law, Gary Mason of Hereford; 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, November 16, 2015 at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Hereford. Rev. James Peach, Pastor of Frio Baptist Church will officiate. Burial is under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.

A Memorial Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, November 16, 2015 at Frio Baptist Church. Rev. Alan Burkhalter, family member and Pastor of Chaparral Hill Baptist Church, Amarillo, will officiate.

Larry Hendershot

3379259Larry was born April 19, 1948 in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Bill and Winnie (Brock) Hendershot. In 1966 he graduated from Partridge Rural High School, Partridge, Kansas. In 1970 he graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and in 1977 with a master’s degree in Grain Science. He married Marlene Ann (Schultes) Hendershot on November 6, 1976 in Manhattan, Kansas. They moved to Hereford, Texas, in 1981.

Having been raised on the family farm in Kansas, Larry’s passion for learning was in Research & Development in the Agriculture industry.

Larry’s life consisted of many memorable events but the three that he received his identity from were when he received Jesus as his Lord and friend in 1976 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the birth of his four children and the many blessings they brought to him, and the birth of his grandson Ayden who was his delight and joy.

Larry was a member of the New Life Restoration Center in Hereford and also a former member of the American Association of Cereal Chemists. He was an avid reader and liked listening to various genres of music. Larry enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, rafting, and photography.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur “Bill” Hendershot; in-laws, Merlin and Doris Schultes; one sister-in-law, Cheryl (Schultes) Goff; and one brother-in-law, Howard Goff.

Survivors left to cherish his memories are his wife, Marlene of the home in Hereford; his children, Matthew Hendershot of New Port News, Virginia, Christopher Hendershot and wife Danielle of Boise, Idaho, Katherine Hendershot of Amarillo, and Marshall Hendershot of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one grandson, Ayden Hendershot of Amarillo; his mother, Winnie Hendershot of Hutchinson, Kansas; one sister, Sharon Kinney and husband Don of Wichita, Kansas; 1 niece, Becky Vanlandingham and husband Troy of Wichita, Kansas; and one nephew, Brian Epperson and wife Gaby of Kennewick, Washington.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in Elliott Mortuary & Cremation Chapel, 1219 Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas. Rev. Stan Hendershot, cousin, will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Darlow, Kansas, under the entrusted direction of Elliott Mortuary & Cremation Services. Kory Duayne Keith

3385300Kory was born February 24, 1983 in Canyon, TX and lived there most of his life. He married the love of his life on October 12, 2001 and together they had 3 children, Madisyn, Isaiah and Mia. His family was his world, everything in his life revolved around his family. His huge heart was undeniable and anyone who knew him felt that from the first encounter. He loved to express himself either by his drawings or writing but mostly from his craftsmanship. He was a warrior for God and wanted nothing more than to be that servant for Him.

Kory is survived by his wife, Maria, son Isaiah, and daughters Madisyn and Mia; his mother, Darla Grimland and husband Jeff; brothers, Chanc Burdick and wife Katy, Beau Burdick, Blaze Bulla; sisters Kourtney Claunch and husband Jason, Skyla Edmiaston and husband Dustin, Jade Burdick, Amanda Goins and husband Jason, Amber Russel and husband Dustin, and Averi Bulla; and his grandmother, Patsy Frame.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Harvest Christian Fellowship, 4808 S. Bonham St., Amarillo, TX. Cremation services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street, Hereford, Texas.

Jose Isaias Griego

3380996Jose was born July 19, 1934 in San Miguel, New Mexico, to Ernesto Bernardo and Cirilia (Garcia) Griego. Jose moved to the rural Deaf Smith County with his parents in 1943 from San Miguel. He fell in love and married his best friend, Sarapia (Gonzales) Griego on July 15, 1955 in Clovis, New Mexico. Jose was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church and supporting member of the Texas Fraternal Order of Police. His love for his Lord and family was un-measureable. He loved spending time with his family, truly enjoyed the last several years just sitting around with his bride and enjoying coffee and the breakfast she made for him. Jose like taking vacations and trips with his family, watching his favorite TV programs such as “Texas Ranger”, “Gun Smoke”, “Little House on the Prairie” and western movies. Jose was a farmer by choice. He loved the farm, was a cattle rancher, loved animals, raising calves, spending time with his dogs, planting a garden for his family’s needs and deer hunting, He really liked deer meat and beef jerky. Jose was a “penny pincher” as he worked very hard for everything he had and his accomplishments in life. Jose was an “HONORABLY” discharged veteran of the United States Army.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Rosita Carlton; and 2 brothers, Robert “Bobby” Griego and Julian Joe Griego.

Survivors left to cherish his memories are his wife and best friend, Sarapia of the home; 1 son, Tony Griego and wife Loida of Las Vegas, NV; 6 daughters, Col. Nancy Griego (US Army Reserve) of the home, Diana Cortez and husband Robert of Albuquerque, NM, Anna Lisa Limas and husband Marcial of Hereford, Judy Sermino of Dallas, Mary Salazar and husband Moises of Lewisville, TX, Rebecca Buseienes and husband Gilles of Santan Valley, AZ; step-mother, Dolores Griego of Hereford; 4 brothers, Max Griego and wife Janie of Hereford, Ernesto Griego Jr. of Hereford, Santiago Griego and wife Nellie of Sayre, OK, Tony Griego of Hereford; 10 sisters, Teodora Pacheco of Clovis, NM, Eurolia Griego of Hereford, Martha Cortez and husband Tony of Hereford, Clara Guerra and husband Catarino of Amarillo, Rita Flores and husband Joe of Houston, Irene Guerra of Hereford, Beatrice Urias and husband Eloy of Amarillo, Betty Gonzales and husband Tommy of Amarillo, Annabell Villegas and husband Ralph of Amarillo, Rosemary Villarreal and husband Lee of Ft. Ernesto Bosquez

3389538Ernesto was born February 26, 1937 in Del Rio, Texas, to Alfonso and Irene (Nieves) Bosquez. Ernesto never married; however, he was a father figure to many. He was a Christian who loved his Lord. He loved his family, liked traveling, music, BBQ’s, going for walks, socializing with his family, friends and strangers. Ernesto liked to spend time with his pets and watching cowboy and western movies. Ernesto was a quiet and gentle man. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Ernesto was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Manuel Martinez.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Maria Celaya and Herlinda Martinez of Hereford and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
