Brent “Dayton Todd” Herring

Brent was born October 24, 1952 in Thomas, OK to Elon and L. B. Herring. He graduated from Elk City High School in Oklahoma, continued school at Southwest Oklahoma State University and also the Communication and Technology Institute of Broadcasting. He was a radio personality with KIXZ-KMML and KDJW-KBUY FM, for many years. He opened his own recording studio, Audio Refinery, in which he recorded commercials for radio, television and bands. A talented musician, he loved music. He formed a band with his friends known as the Bunkhouse Band. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating. He married Laurie Herd in Las Vegas, NV on November 18, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Farrell Richard Herring.

He is survived by his wife Laurie; step children, Coby Leach and wife Erin and Emily Whitsitt; step-grandchildren, Addisyn Grace and Graham Montgomery Leach, all of Amarillo; a brother, Larry Herring and wife Dana, of Elk City, OK; 3 nephews, Larry Gordon Herring and wife Rhonda, Jason Herring and Andrew Herring and wife Shaunda; great-niece and nephews, Colton, Haylee and Weston Herring, all of Oklahoma City, OK; and an uncle Don Herring and wife Wanda, of Thomas, OK; and many close friends.
